if someone is riding towards you on a bicycle and is simultaneously [sp?] making eye contact chances are the worst possible move for you to make would be in any direction save the direction you are currently going in. in fact as far as chances go the person riding the bike has most likely already decided on a course of action around you [that being either left or right.] and by moving to either side you considerably cut down your chances [50/50] of a speedy recovery.
